Farewell Grandpa!

This is a picture of everyone with grandpa on my birthday two years ago.

My Grandpa Bucky passed away peacefully from this life yesterday. My memories of Grandpa have been filling my mind these past 24 hours as I have peacefully and mindfully cherished his life and my perspective as his grandson.

Grandpa Bucky was the kind of Grandpa any kid would want-- he was always willing to have fun. One of my greatest memories of Grandpa was when we were at Sunriver for the Tintle Family Reunion and we locked ourselves out of one of our rooms. In a desperate mood to get the room open before help could come, Grandpa and I spent the next hour perplexed as we tried opening the door with a credit card. Grandpa and I for the life of us couldn't figure out why the heck the door wasn't opening. Eventually, someone got a hold of a key and we got in. However, that hour spent with Grandpa was just another small example of the kind of guy Grandpa was.

For those of you who don't know my grandpa, he was the ultimate "fixer-upper". There wasn't anything grandpa couldn't fix. I remember when he would come visit for a week my parents would give him a list of 10-15 things to do around the house. Grandpa would always have me help him and he would patiently teach me how to get things done around the house.

Grandpa has a crude yet very funny sense of humor. One time as we were driving to a Dodger game in California and his car broke down. We ended up driving up to a random house looking for help. A bunch of Mexicans came out to help us fix our car. They ended up being a perfect help and afterwards Grandpa drove us to the store to buy a 24-pack of Budweiser as a gift to the Mexicans for helping us. I've never seen Mexicans so happy.

Another time when I was probably 6 or 7 years old we were sitting around at home while the Christmas song came up "Do you hear what I hear?" I believe the song is called the Little Drummer Boy. Well, as grandpa sat there with everyone else, he farted and then with the music sang "Do you smell what I smell?" It was the funniest thing as we were all on the floor laughing our butts off.

These are just a few of the many memories I have of Grandpa. You will be missed, Grandpa. You were a great guy, a great father, a great Grandpa, and most of all a great husband. I will miss you and have missed grandma for years. Until we meet again, Grandpa, God be with you!

Viva Las Vegas!

We are having a blast in Vegas! It's nice not to think about work and just have fun. So far we have gone to great restaurants and saw Jersey Boys. Great show! We lucked out and when we got to our seats the worker at the show said they wanted to upgrade us to better seats. We got to sit in the Orchestra level and had a way better view! YAY! Merry Christmas to us!

Today we are going to the show Let's Make a Deal hosted by Wayne Brady. We have our costumes ready and excited! We will post pictures later.

Things you shouldn't do....

We wanted a bubbly hot tub. Just don't assume that just because you don't see any suds while filling up the water there wont be when you turn the jets on. The water is only halfway full, bubble fill the rest of the tub. I have never laughed so hard in my life.

Big 30 birthday part 2

Whats wrong with this pic? I am wearing a swimsuit with uggs and a coat. We had to walk outside to get to the pool in the snow. BRRR!

We are at the pool/hot tub and its snowing on us! I couldn't even plan how romantic and cool this was.

Me looking at the coolest gift I got. Darren published my blog into a book! Now I have all my memories kept forever. Plus it gives me more motivation to keep bloggin.
A closer look at the book.

How come no one told me 30 is the best birthday ever!?

This year I turned 30 years old!!!! I can't even believe I am this old! I was very nervous heading to this birthday, but I have a wonderful husband who spoiled me rotten. The night before his mom and sister in law had a little birthday party for me with just a couple people. They had a couple gifts and they sang happy birthday to me. I think the kids loved trying to blow out the candles before I did. LOL.

The day of my birthday Darren had the whole day surprised for me. He woke me up with breakfast in bed! Then later that day he took me to Dinner at Melting Pot where we had the most delicious and romantic dinner. After dinner he drove me to Park City where we got a hotel right on Main st. It was soo romantic. We walked through the town and it was snowing with Christmas lights everywhere. I think my husband knows I love romance! He did a good job.

Everyone waiting for the candles to get blown out and June trying to beat me to it!

Dinner at the Melting Pot with my sweet husband.
The best part of my birthday was sharing it with this guy!

Thanksgiving 2009

This year we decided to go to Darren's family for Thanksgiving. We had fun. In the morning we all ran a 5k and went to breakfast. I learned to make a Pecan Pie and made my delicious Sweet Potatoes. MMMMmmMm everything was delicious and Thankgiving was a success.
Everyone that came for Dinner.
All the runner. All the yummy food.

If anyone of you know my husband you will know he LOVES BYU! He will travel to almost any game he has a chance to go to. When Espn's Gameday show came to BYU you better believe Darren woke up at the crack of dawn to go to the show. Even thought they did lose Darren had a blast.

The sea of people at the show.Darren and his dad in the early morning waiting for the show to start.
This is one of the Espn Anchors picking BYU to win. Although they did lose.
