blah...

I have been on a writer's block for a few months now. I have nothing to blog about, but Darren and I are excited for the Holidays coming up. Even though this is a busy time for us at work (everyone wants their kids haircut for family pictures!), we just love getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love to bake! I will bake anything I have an excuse for. The Holidays give me an excuse to do so. For Thanksgiving I will be baking a Pecan Pie. Does anyone have a good recipe I could try? In fact, does anyone have any baked goods that are fun to make that I could try?

Happy Anniversary to Us!

September 28th was our 3 year anniversary. We wanted to make this Anniversary special, especially since we have gone through a lot the past month. Darren got a room in Park City and we spent the weekend there. We wanted to do something memorable so we also bought a new couch and a new King size bed. We wont forget this Anniversary, that's for sure!

Posing!

Excited they had a big tub.
Darren excited we had our own hot tub on our balcony.

Annie's Little Concert

My sister-n-law has a awesome voice. She is so good she was asked to sing with a group for a neighborhood. It was fun and Annie did awesome!

Sun River

This summer we took went on a trip to Oregon. We stayed at Darren's family favorite place in Sunriver. We loved it and can't wait to go back again. It was fun to share memories and places that Darren and his family remembered while we were there.

Us trying a new place called Blondie's. MMMMM they had good food.
Darren and his dad golfing. I think they golfed a couple times during the trip.
I thought this was funny. We caught all the kids on this waterfall. Notice the big sign that says "KEEP OFF"

One of the popular things to do is bike. We had fun going on a couple bike trails.

Yes we are alive!

Darren and I have been on hiatus for awhile. We have had so much happen to us. Most of you I am sure know. We found out we were pregnant in July and in September we lost the baby. We have been trying to deal with being pregnant then not. We have appreciated everyone who has dropped by, prayed for us and even called us. We haven't been able to get through this without any of you. Darren and I are doing really well with all of this. Even though this miscarriage has been not as hard as the first one, it still is tough to deal with and we hope people can be patient with us as we go through this tough time again. We may not be over it when everyone would like us to be, but we are in a good place and have the lord on our side.

On a lighter note, Darren got a new calling and so did I. Darren is now working with the Deacons as the Young Mens second counselor. He has about 10 to 12 active deacons, so his calling will definatly keep him busy. I got called as Young Womens Secretary along with keeping my other calling as Personal Progress Advisor. We both work with the youth and love it.

This past week we just celebrated our 3 year anniversary. We stayed in a really cool hotel called, Newpark with our own private hot tub. That was a blast! After 3 years of never buying our own furniture, just getting stuff from other people or garage sells, we went to RC Willey and bought a new sectional couch and king size bed. LOVE IT!

As you can tell we have had a lot of things happen to us. I will blog more later and post pictures.

Hiking Timp Caves

This past week we decided to spend our day off together going on a hike to Timp Caves. It was so fun to get out and we didn't expect it to be so steep at first. We finished it tho, only stopping a couple times. :) Darren did get hit by falling rocks. That kinda freaked us out, but had an awesome time.

Girls Camp and Scout Camp

Darren and I both got great opportunity to serve with the Youth. I got to go to Girls Camp and he got to go to Scout Camp. It was my first time leaving him for a 4 days. That was hard! I had tons of fun with the cute girls and learned a lot.
All the girls and leaders going to Girls Camp.
Me with a couple of the leaders.
The girls did so many pranks. This was just one. One of the poor girls Saran wrapped to a tree. It was hysterical.

Darren got to go to Scout Camp this past week and he had a blast. He got to ride horses with the boys, have farting contests. (Ew!) He even won the rifle shooting contest with all the leaders! I didn't even know he could shoot a gun!

My handsome Stallion riding a horse.
Putting up our tent for the first time.

First Date's

Last weekend Darren and I got free tickets to the Salt Lake Bee's Baseball Game. That was really cool to us, because that was where we went on our first date. It was fun to talk about and remember all the memories we had of that first date. how lucky am I to have such a cute husband who adores and loves me!

Enjoying each other and the baseball game!

4th of July and MORE!

We had a lot of fun Celebrating the 4th of July. First of all we started the celebrations early on the 3rd. We went to Bountiful Fireworks that were on a golf course. We played games and ate until the fireworks started. It was a blast.
Some of us playing games waiting for the fireworks to start.
No not our baby. Just Darren's sisters baby with us. Under the blanket anticipating the fireworks!

On the 4th of July, Darren and I ran a 5k together. A lot of our family came too! I was impressed our little 6 year old nephew Harrison ran the whole thing too! Way to go!
All the gang who ran in Darren's side of the family. My sister ran with me, but she was gone by here.
Who these people are? We have no idea, but all these guys ran the 5k.

and the fun continues with more posts....

The biggest thing that has happened was that Darren's little sister got married. I still can't believe she is married, but we are soo happy for her and we both just adore her new hubby, Jake!

Cute pic of the new married couple just leaving the Temple.

Darren and I at the wedding reception, looking like we are going to prom.

Darren and his cousin, Michael George in their killer shades.
Darren and I at the luncheon.

What have the Tintle's been up to?

I have had the hardest time blogging lately. I don't know why either. Darren and I have done a few fun things. I will get ya updated. First of all Darren and I went with some of his family to the David Archuletta Concert...er I mean the Real Salt Lake Soccer Game. It just happened that Archie was singing a mini concert after. I think the boys had just as much fun as the girls did when Archie sang, because they were squeeling like teeny boppers. Or maybe they were just making fun of us? :)

Another fun thing that I did was have a girls night out with some of my bestest friends from high school. ( I am so lucky that I have such good friends from high school.) We went to Kelly Clarkson concert in Orem. We had such a blast. We acted just like we did in High School, which was hyper. We even got matching Poncho's because it was raining. We thought we were the coolest thing. Cuz we are!

And the winner is...

I'm posting on here because I can't stand to see my big face right when you pull up our blog.

So here's a couple things that Heather and I have been up to lately:

1) American Idol Party- Heather and I decided to host our 2nd annual American Idol finale party (really, it was all Heather's idea). We had everyone over from my side of the family in our little apartment all huddle around our big screen to watch the two-hour finale. Heather made three homemade pizzas, and everyone else brought some goodies to make the party all the better. We had a blast and were happy Kris Allen won.

2) Heather and I have been enjoying financial freedom. WE'RE DEBT FREE! We paid off the last of Heather's student loan earlier in May, and have loved being debt free. However, we're still not done with the Dave Ramsey plan. We're now just getting started (much to Heather's excitement and enthusiasm :-D). Now, all during summer we will be saving up our emergency fund of about six months of expenses for a rainy day. I have to say, I have been sick of hearing "Dave Ramsey" and everything that has to do with him. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.

3) Heather started Clomid. For those of you who don't know what this is, it's a fertility drug. She's approaching 30 and we're both really eager to start a family, so we're hoping this drug will do miracles. Truly, we both are grateful for what we have learned this last year... it's been a hard one. However, we wouldn't change it for anything (except a kid :-D), and if anything Heather and I have grown much closer together--if this is even possible. Here's to a pregnant Heather!

4) I'm looking for a new (upward) position in my company. More than likely this will mean we will be moving in the near future. We both feel that we're young and in a position to do something like this to try it out for maybe a couple years. We'll see what life throws at us.

5) We're both itchin' to go somewhere exotic. Any ideas???

He is getting soo Old!

My sweet husband turned 26 years old this past saturday. He is getting old! I know, not as old as me, but close. :) For his birthday I had a couple surprises for him. One of the surprises was a professional massage. He was soo excited. He has never had a massage that good before. Later that night we met his parents and went to Tucano's. We ate good and had good company. We then went home and watched a sports documentary and opened presents. He had a great birthday and I can't wait to celebrate lots more with him.

Us at Tucano's

for Mother's Day, my husband thought I should be celebrated on that day too, so he bought me this book. I LOVE TO BAKE!!!

This is his Peanut Butter Cake that I made from that baking cookbook. He loved it!
All of his birthday presents from me.

Wicked!

So we got hooked up with some tickets to Wicked recently and were able to watch from about row 15! We had a really good view and the show was amazing. We would recommend the show to anyone. Here's some pics:

We went with Darren's parents (thank you for the hook-up) and Darren's sister Tiffany and her husband Phillip. It was a blast guys!

I have been not into writing in my blog, blah! I am making myself write a quick post. Life has been great for the both of us. January Darren and I have been on Weight Watchers. Darren has lost around 20 and I have lost around 10. We are both proud of ourselves. We also are deciding we want to go on a big trip this year. We want to go to Hawaii or Cancun. We just can't decide which one. Any suggestions??

The Bachelor...

I liked Melissa 100 million times more than Molly.

Jason is an idiot and is truly what Melissa called him (the "B" word).

I hope Jason and Molly don't work out.

I hope Melissa finds true love and marries some dude that adores the heck out of her and fights for her.

Valentines and Fun!

Last year for Valentines Darren and I were in Cabo. We went Whale watching and had a blast. This year we really wanted to have a low-key and just do something simple. We can't always have amazing Valentines...right? It was a perfect Valentines. We celebrated a day early (we were suppose to go snowmobiling on Valentines with his family, but got postponed till the 16th, because there was a blizzard). He took me to dinner and just cuddled the rest of the night. I love romantic weekends. This is what I woke up to on the 13th, the note saying "Will you be my Valentine?"

Just about to hop on the snowmobiles. I was not about to get cold.
Just finished snowmobiling and being baby hungry I took one of my cute nieces and played with her.

What I love about Darren...

With Valentines Day approaching, I wanted to take the time and share a couple things that I love about my sweetheart....

1. I love the way Darren would do anything I ask of him, or he knows he should do. (like turning off a Jazz or BYU game just to be with ME!)

2. I love the way Darren kisses me every morning before he goes to work.

3. I love the way Darren takes all his responsibilities seriously. ( Husband, Provider, and I know when we start a family, a Father)

4. I love the way Darren lets me win arguments, even though I am wrong a lot of the time. :)

5. I love the way Darren gets so intense when watching a Byu game, but he calms down shortly after it's over so we can have our quality time.

6. I love the way Darren is the most dependable person. In fact, people in church ask him to give Priesthood lessons 15 mins before church even starts, and he never complains. He says yes with a smile.

7. I love the way Darren will surprise me with my fave food, taco bell, or even surprise me with flowers, with no reason at all.

8. I love the way Darren puts me as his first priority always. He worried about me this winter so he bought me a SUV.

9. I love the way Darren is as eager and excited to hopefully become a parent someday.

10. I love the way Darren will help me accomplish anything. Even if that means holding my hand so I finish a race.

11. I love the way Darren gets goofy with me and we can just be goofy for hours.

12. I love the way Darren will always want to do fun things and try and experience new things...with me.

13. I love the way Darren loves Children.
14. I love the way Darren puts his mind to something, determined to do it or get it and he does. Even when he wants so badly to catch the baseball at a Bee's Game.

Lastly, I love the way Darren is one of the best men out there. He tries to be kind to everyone and show respect for everyone. Anyone is lucky to cross his path.

Darren I love you! Happy Valentines Day!

Happy New Year 2009!

I know I am good, posting twice in one day! As I have looked back at 2008, I realize, Darren and I did a lot. So here is my list of stuff in order we did last year.

1. Darren graduated school with his bachelors in Business.

2. Darren got a real job being a manager.

3. We went to Cabo, Mexico. (That was a blast)

4. We moved away from Happy Valley to Ute Country. (wow has that been hard)

5. I got a real job and actually do something I love. I got a job at a kid salon.

6. I got pregnant with twins

7. I miscarried a few months later.

8. We paid off both of our cars!

9. Darren bought me a SUV for the winters.

As I look back at our list I can't believe how much we did this last year. Now I want to write my list for 2009. In no particular order.

Get pregnant. (hope this happens soon and no I am not pregnant yet)

Get out of debt. (almost out of debt, we just have to pay off a little bit more)

Lose all this weight I have gained. ( We both joined weight watchers again)

I want to run a 5k

Buy a house ( We probably wont buy one this year, but hey might as well put it on my list.)

Stick to our budget :)

That's all I can think of right now. I am sure Darren has a few more he would like to add, but for now this is my list. Happy new year everyone and hope you all your goals and resolutions you make you stick with them and accomplish them.

Christmastime!

I haven't been feeling like blogging lately, but I am making myself so I don't forget to talk about Christmas and whats been going on lately.

First of all Christmas went by so fast. This was the first year Darren and I got to spend a lot of time together doing lots of fun events. We got to see the lights TWICE at temple square. Both times were so COLD! (notice the pic above we are so cold we are bundled up and Darren is wearing thermals!) It was still pretty and always good to go there. Christmas Eve we spent with my family and that night we drove to Darrens parents to spend the night and open presents. We decided to go light this year and not get much for each other. I however still got Wicked tickets which I am stoked about. We also decided for dinner on Christmas to go somewhere nice, so we went and ate at Little America with his parents and little sis, Hayley. I was a great Christmas, so sad it's over.

As many of you know I am getting way into cupcakes. I love to make them and I love to eat them. I made a couple different ones for the holidays. First ones are my Ornament cupcakes I gave away as some gifts and second were some Peanut Butter Surprises. What's the surprise? I will just have to make you some to know.

Peanut butter Surprise cupcakes. YUMMY!

Christmas Ornament Cupcakes.

Best Birthday Ever!

Last Saturday, on the 13Th, was my birthday. This was the first year Darren didn't have finals nor was he at work. He decided this year to spoil me rotten. He surprised me all weekend. He first took me the Friday before to see Four Christmas's. It was a pretty funny movie. We both liked it. He then surprised me with a night stay at Little America. The next day on my actual birthday he let me open all my presents. To my BIG surprise he got me what I thought I would only dream of getting, UGG BOOTS! I was definitely surprised. That following night he took me to a fancy restaurant, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Wow! What amazing food they have. It's too expensive to go again, but definitely worth every bite. YUM! Needless to say I had a great birthday. The best part about it all was I got to be with my husband all weekend long!

In the lobby of Little America on my birthday.

Funny Story, So at 6:30 am at the Hotel we woke up to hundreds of sirens blaring out our window. We were totally confused what was going on. We looked out our balcony and we saw this. All those lights our hundreds of Police cars with every single siren going off. Why you ask? WE DON'T KNOW! I just told Darren I could of done without the early morning birthday wake up call. :)
My Christmas skirt I got for my birthday.
Darren and I enjoying my delicious dessert at Ruth's Chris.

My Ugg boots. Aren't they adorable?!

Just a few days more....

Until it's my birthday! WAHOO!!!! Darren keeps being secretive and it's bugging me!!!!!! The worst part is I don't know if what he is planning is for my birthday or Christmas. I hope he gets me some UGG boots. ( a girl can dream )

Twilight FUN!

A couple weeks ago my husband and some of his family went to Twilight. I was surprised my husband even wanted to go, but he ended up liking it more then me. I thought the first 20 minutes were totally awkward and cheesey. Luckily, the rest of the movie made of up for it. I heard its even better the second time. So I want to go see it again. Anyone wanna go?

Darren and I waiting for the movie to start. My shirt says, "Cold hands are hot."

My SIL, Hayley, we had fun giggling through it. Her shirt says, "I would of picked Jacob," even though I don't think she would of. Atleast I hope not.

Last week my husbands sisters and his mom all went Good Things Utah! We had so much fun. My sister n law, Annie, got her cute Twilight shirts plugged on air. We even got our 15 seconds ( wait I mean 5 seconds) of fame with GTU only showing us at the end of the show in the audience.

One Crazy Weekend

This past weekend has been Crraaaaazzzzyyy!! Darren and I finally went on a date. It's been a long time since I can remember going on a date with just ourselves. It was soo nice to be with one another. I got all dolled up and ready to be with my babe. Darren took me to a Jazz Game. Which I always love going to. We decided to just eat dinner there and for dessert had these HUGE ice cream cones that I couldnt finish. All in all it was fabulous just to be with my sweety.
That following sunday Darren and I babysat for 2 nights my sister in law, Annie's kids. It was fun, but definatly not easy. The first night I decided we are just going to make pizza for dinner then wash up for bed. The kids loved helping me make a pizza, but Harrison (her 5 year old) asks me, "Where is the pepperoni?" I had to explain to him that it was sunday and I had to use what we had in the house. When the pizza was done those two kids devoured most of the pizza. I was suprised they ate so much. My nephew and nieces on my side eat very little. Harrison and Rex ate half a jelly roll pan sized pizza. WOW! The next day was monday and we decided to have FHE. We pulled out the friend and talked about an article in there. I think it was about helping out and being nice. The kids had fun and Darren and I had fun. We definatly are ready for kids, just one at a time. I didnt know if you knew this or not but kids are a handful! :)

Rex telling Darren during FHE, "You're so right Darren!" It was funny.

Election thoughts...

Hello all, this is Darren. I haven't posted here for months. However, I feel the need to "vent" a little about this election. What better place to do it than on a blog where the whole world can see it.

Here's my two cents on this whole election: Obama being our elected President isn't going to make the world end! Yes, there are certain key issues that I feel Obama has very little knowledge about (due to lack of experience). However, Obama isn't going to screw YOU. He isn's going to screw ME. Neither would have McCain if he were elected. Neither would have Joe Blow, had he been elected.

What happens to me and my personal life is 97% in my control, and 3% in the President's control. I'm serious about this! The last time I checked, I had complete agency to do whatever the heck I want to do, whenever the heck I want to do it, and however the heck I want to do it. There's a little something called "personal responsibility", and Obama isn't going to change that one bit. Yes, his decision making might slightly impact the economy and country as a whole. However, as I continue to live my life, this country will continue to give opportuinity to those who seek after it. Again, Obama isn't going to hinder me in this journey, nor is he going to motivate me to move forward. This is all a PERSONAL decision that if made out of careful judgement, I can achieve!

In other words, life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it.

Heather and I will be just fine with Obama as President as will you, as messed up as some of his ideas may be. Life will go on, and as far as I'm concerned, Obama will have such little impact on my life as a whole that quite frankly, I'm not concerned at all.

I'm proud to be an American.

I love cupcakes!

I absolutely think cupcakes are the best thing out there. They look good, taste good, and fun to make. My only thing is I want to know if there is a good book with good recipes or a book or a website that has cupcake decorating tips. If anyone has any info for me leave a comment.

Some Oldies, but Goodies

I have decided to post some pictures of the summer Darren and I got engaged. He was in Oregon selling security systems. I flew down there the first week of June and he proposed to me on the Oregon coast. We were next to Haystack Rock (they filmed part of Goonies there). We hung out there all day and at sunset he got on one knee and told me he wanted to watch the sunset with his fiance. AAAAWWW!!!
Driving home from the coast after he proposed. I loved showing off my new fabulous ring!
Hanging at the coast. It was beautiful.

Later that summer we hungout in Portland for the 4th to watch fireworks at the waterfront.
Being silly and newly engaged on the 4th.
Waiting for the fireworks to start. I just think Darren looked kinda cute in this picture. :)

Weight Loss

The past few months have been a real rollercoaster for Darren and I. During all the stuff that has happened we both have gained weight. During my pregnancy and miscarriage I have gained 15 pounds. This has totally shocked me. Especially since this has happened all since June. Darren has gained weight having to deal with me. :) We both are ready to move forward. We can't wait to lose our weight and have already started on the right foot so far. We both have lost some weight starting this last week. We are sharing our weightloss with everyone and hope everyone can help encourage us. Feel free to join with us and get your own weightloss goal.

The end of our trip (part 3)

As the week was ending so was our trip. Darren and I decided to relax the rest of the time, because we had been getting up early and doing lots of fun things. We went to Venice beach and hungout all day. The very last thing we got to do was spend a night at Lake Arrowhead. Darren's Aunt and Uncle were nice enough to take us to their cabin there. This trip was a blast and I can't wait till we can do another fun trip again.

Us chilling at Venice beach. That beach is a very fun beach full of lots of crazies.
Nice tan line on my arms eh?

Darren enjoying the boat ride at Lake Arrowhead.
Darren's uncle was nice enough to take us on his boat.
It was Octoberfest at the lake and everyone was drinking and going crazy. It was funny to watch.

At the lake having fun in the village.

Happy Anniversary!

Today is our 2 year anniversary. We have had a blast spending it in California and with each other. I have married the best man. Since our wedding he has made me the happiest girl. I couldn't ask for any more. I love you Darren. Thanks babe!!

As you can tell I am so happy here. I just married the man of my dreams.

Isn't he good looking...mMMmMMMmM good. :)
I just loved the back of my dress. Goodness, I just loved being in this dress.

Our California Trip (part 2)

We have been having so much fun in California. Darren likes to plan tons of activities, so that's what we have been doing. The highlight of our trip is Disneyland and Club 33. It's been so fun being able to spend our 2 year anniversary in California and getting to spend some time with one another. I love Darren.

This was a fun day. Darren took me to get on the Price is Right. What a blast that was. We met some crazy, fun people. Which was good, because you spend hours and hours waiting in line to get on the show. When we got into the show they had some fun music on and everyone was dancing and singing. It was crazy people were dancing in the isles and going nuts. IT WAS FUN! Drew Carey was the host and was pretty hilarious. In between tapings he would ask question and just talk to the audience. Whenever someone would lose he would tell them what they did wrong and what he would of done.

I must say, I didn't want to get up early and get on the show. Darren literally had to drag me there. I was wrong though. It was one of the funnest experiences in my life. I didn't want to be called up. Thank goodness I wasn't. I just got to enjoy myself on a classic tv show with Darren.

They wouldn't let us have camera's so this picture is the best we got.

After the Price is Right we tried to find a In and Out. We found one as you can see after taking the wrong freeways and after an hour or more in RUSH HOUR we found one in Sunset BLVD. Yay and it was totally worth it.
Later that night Darren's aunt hooked us up with Dodger tickets. What a fun game. We got to watch my new favorite team and have dodger dogs.
This is at Disneyland. Halloween was just getting started at Disneyland so everything was decked out in Halloween stuff. We are in front of the Haunted Mansion. They changed it to the Nightmare Before Christmas story. It was cool to see the mansion changed up.

Darren right before the big drop at splash mtn.
This is in front of the "infamous" door of club 33.
We are waiting for our food at the club. They guy who was helping us was telling us about all the famous stars who ate there.
I thought this was funny. This was the toilet at club 33.

This is part of club 33. This is the telephone booth there. This same telephone booth was used in the movie, The Happiest Millionare. ( I thought my sister Kari would appreciate that)
Right as you walk in Club 33. We are in front of the elevator.
On the main st in Disneyland.
I thought this was hilarious. We are right in back of the parade. When it would end people would get up and follow it so they could leave the park. It would keep stopping so the characters could sing and dance. By that time we were ready to just leave. Guess you had to be there :)

BYU Game and Our Trip (part 1)

Darren and I started our big trip by going to a BYU game. After the game (which they wooped WY) we headed to vegas to stay at my aunts condo. The game was a blast.
The first fun thing we did was go to the Beatles show in Vegas. It was soo crazy. I can't even explain what its about. Everyone just needs to go. It's amazing. Their is all this circus acts among other things to alot of Beatles songs. Very cool.
This is Darren in front of the Beatles lounge. T is for Tintle right?

The next fun thing we did was go to sea world. It was sorta like a zoo for fish. It was fun, but we agreed would be funner to take our kids someday. We are at the Shamu show. We didn't get drenched. YAY! At the dolphin show though, this poor lady was getting drenched by the dolphins. It was like they had a grudge against her. They wouldn't stop splashing water on her. It was like buckets pooring down. She was drenched, but we weren't :)

Darren thought this picture was cool. Above my head is this shark. I dont look nervous at all.

Darren petting something, haha, at Sea world. I think it's a eel?

This was before the ride at Sea World.

This is after. We are completely soaked. Note to self, never ride Sea World rides again.
We hung out at Ocean Beach in San Diego after Sea World. It was relaxing and fun to watch all the surfers.
We ate at this really good restaurant in Old Downtown San Diego. They had the BEST fried ice cream EVER.

Golf, Girls Night Out and Pink Toes!

The past couple weeks have not been too eventful. We both got to do a couple things we have been wanting to do. Darren got to play golf a couple times. I got to have a girls night out with some friends from high school, which is always a blast and full of giggles. Now we are counting down till our well deserved vacation to disneyland on saturday. YAY!! Darren was in a golf tournament with his dad today. They took 4th place and he won a ihome for our ipod. My husband is amazing at golf. Now I have taken it upon myself to find him a sponser. I am married to the next Tiger Woods!!! My friend does glitter toes. I finally got them done and love them!! Everyone should get them done.
Me and a couple girls from high school having a girls night out. We ate at cheesecake and then hung around the mall. Gee it sounds like high school all over again.
My high school friends being goofy. I love these girls!

A Day Out

Today Heather and I headed up American Fork Canyon on the Harley to hike up to the Timpanogos Caves. To our surprise, the caves are only open on weekends, so we decided to do a ride through the Alpine Loop. It was a most beautiful ride. For those of you that haven't done this ride yet, you should! I know this sounds corny, but I literally felt a great spirit as I saw the back side of beatiful mountains that God created. Just see our pictures below.

Afterwards we headed to our OBGYN only to find out that he was just called to deliver a baby. We rescheduled for next week... ugh... we just want to know that everything is okay and that we can "move on" with our lives.

What a LONG week......

WOW! This has been a really long week for Darren and I. Darren sure has been sweet to help me through this hard time for the both of us. We are also so suprised at how many people have had so much compassion and showed their love. THANK YOU! We really mean it!

On Friday, we went up to Logan. Darren ran on Saturday. He had to get up really early so we decided to stay the night at my brothers. It was fun to get away from Bountiful. Darren did run his race. I was so proud of him. He didn't even get to train all week long, because he was with me and he finished in better time then we both thought. GOOD JOB BABE!

Darren just about done with the race. GO DAR!
I was yelling at him and saying hi, but he couldnt hear me. Or was he ignoring me?

The three finishers in the family. Phillip, Hayley, and Darren
Darrens sister and him. She was faster then Darren. GO Hayley.
This is lyric my little niece. Funny story about her. She kept watching all the runners go by. She was getting really curious about them. Finally she asked if she could run too. So she started running to the finish line with my brother. It was soo cute.

Heather update...

The last about 48 hours have been very eventful for us, and we are finally all settled down and resting.

Yesterday (Tuesday) Heather wasn't doing so well all day. Finally around 4 o'clock Heather called me in desperation to go to the hospital as she was having contractions. I quickly drove home from work and found her on the floor almost completely passed out. From that point I picked her up and took her to St. Mark's Hospital Emergency room in Salt Lake. Heather was doing horrible the whole drive and somewhat relieved to find herself in the emergency room.

After a little wait we finally got her in a room and the nurse drugged Heather all up. After a couple minutes she was felling much better. Apparently Heather had had a lot of the miscarriage naturally already, but we wanted to be at the hospital in case anything else happened. After a lot of waiting, she got an ultrasound to see if the D & C was still necessary. However, being late at night our OBGYN wasn't at the hospital, so we decided to come home and continue on with our D & C today at 12:30 (Wednesday).

This morning Heather felt a little better because she was all drugged up. We were told to come back to the hospital this morning to have another ultrasound. After a lot more waiting, Dr. Yamishiro decided it best to have the D & C to get rid of some left behind "stuff" and clear things out to avoid any possible infection of any sort. So around 3 o'clock today Heather went in for a quick same day surgery, and everything ended out ok! Now we are at home and waiting for the Relief Society to bring us dinner!

I just personally wanted to thank Heather's parents for all of their support in this whole thing. They have been by us almost the whole time. I also wanted to thank my parents for coming today and being willing to help us if we need any help. Your visit mom and dad meant a lot to us today. We are more than grateful to everyone else for your constant prayers and acts of kindness. It's very relieving for Heather and I to know that we have so many people that love and care for us. This whole experience has been hard for us (Heather especially), and we know that the emotional pain will never go away. However, we know that it's probably just one of the challenges that we were sent to deal with.

Again, thank you everyone for your prayers and support. We love you all!

Sad news...

SO today was our first prenatal appointment. It didn't turn out as well as we had hoped. They doctor did a ultra sound and they couldn't find a heartbeat. The doctor said I was carrying twins and they stopped growing a few weeks ago. Darren and I are both devestated, but will move on. I go to the hospital on wednesday for a dnc. For a few weeks we will be taking a blogging break to get our emotions intact. Keep us in your prayers!

Please have sympathy on me!

I've completely stopped losing weight.

No, as you're probably wondering, this isn't Heather.  This is Darren.  My half-marathon is next Saturday, and I'm totally pumped.  Except for one thing, the pounds have not been falling.  My gut isn't getting any smaller.

They all say that when you run and train for marathons, you're supposed to lose weight.  This was the case for me as I started around 225 pounds just about three months ago.  I actually came all the way down to 203... about a month ago.  I still weigh 203.

Which leaves me wondering, why am I not losing weight?  Actually, it just dawned on me... Heather's pregnant.

I must be pregnant too.

Just a quick post.

I know! I know! I am totally slacking on updating my post. I really didn't think everyone wanted to hear about all my morning sickness I have had. :) Darren has been doing great on his half-marathon training. Just a little over a week till he runs it. I am so proud of him! I just got a new calling in my ward. I am in YW now. I am the personal progress advisor. This should be fun. Other exciting news is in one week we get to go to our first baby appointment. I will be a little over 9 weeks and we are both stoked!

Yes, It's FINALLY True...

Darren and I FINALLY have an announcement... we're having a baby! We are super excited and have been pinching ourselves. We can't believe it's true. We are due around the middle of March. I am only about 5 weeks along, but already getting some morning sickness. We both can't wait till our little one comes in the spring.

Darren and I tried to think of clever ways of telling our families that I was pregnant. We first told my parents and took them to lunch. It was my mom's birthday the week before and I bought her a little birthday present. I gave her this book she is holding in the picture titled "I knew I loved you before you were born." I thought for sure she would get it, but she responded by saying "I have never read this book before." Luckily, I knew my mom probably would need more probing. So, I wrote in the book the following: "To my mom, my best friend. I hope the new addition is as close to you as I am!" My mom finally got it and was very happy for me. I have never seen my parents both have teary eyes before until then. I love them!

This was the funnest way to tell Darren's family. We were all meeting at a park for a farewell/happy birthday party for Jason (Darren's brother) going to the Air Force and Philip's (Darren's brother-n-law) birthday. We were all sitting down eating our food when Darren announced that he wanted to take a picture of everyone. He said "Ok everyone, on the count of three everyone say: 'Heather's pregnant!'" Needless to say we got the most classic picture that I will always cherish.

A new Heather!

I couldn't take my long hair anymore. It was too hot, and to hard to even straighten. Today I chopped it off. Don't I look good!? Thanks Ciera, I love it!

This is the before picture. Why didnt anyone tell me it was this long!!!!!???

Sooo much better.

I cut off almost ten inches. I love it!

Happy 4th of July

Darren and I had so much fun this past week. On the 3rd we went to the annual Eaglewood fireworks where we live. We got Subway, cards and our blanket to spend the evening there. It was so fun. It reminded me of when we were engaged and we were in Oregon watching fireworks together. The one dumb thing I did, (ok maybe two dumb things)I totally was proud of myself and got everything together before Darren got off work. Put both camera and camcorder in the bag, the food, blankets, etc. When we got to Eaglewood. Darren pulled out the camcorder ready to document our fun night, but guess what I did?! I forgot to put a new tape in the camcorder. How was I suppose to know. At least we had our camera right? WRONG! Darren got it all charged the night before so it would have all its battery for this and 4th. Well, I do it again. I forgot to put in the battery. Darren just keep looking at me like "are you serious?" Needless to say we cant show any pictures of that, but we have tons of the 4th :).On the 4th Darren ran a 5k in Provo. He was so excited. His mom was running it to. It would be her first 5k race. Kudo's for her. I was so proud of Darren for running this race. He did so well although taking a pic and video taping at the same time seemed a lot harder then I thought it was going to be. After the race we went to magleby's for breakfast. They have the best french toast. So we of course had to get more. Later that day we went to my mothers house and had a BBQ with my sisters and their kids. I loved it. I am the baby hungry aunt. I enjoyed every minute of playing with all the kids.

Darren driving to the race at 6am. He is way pumped.

Darren at the finish line. He looks hot!

Darren, his mom, and sister linds, after the race.

I told Ally she could look like me if I could do her hair. So we are having fun. She then told me she thinks I should do her toenails too. lol.

Ally and I being twinners!

A fun filled day

Yesterday was quite a busy day for me. I woke up a little early and had to get ready for the a parade in our area. Our salon was going to be walking in the parade and handing out coupons. When I got to the area where we were going to meet our salon owner said that we had no one to carry the banner. The kids who were going to hold it canceled 30 mins prior. Me and the other stylist, Gwen, went to go find someone to help us. We are asking strangers to come be in our float. Free haircuts we even offered. Well, it worked. We got three ten year old little boys to come help us. They had fun and so did we.

Later that night, I went on a girls night out with a couple of Darren's sisters and his mother. We went to Macaroni Grill, then to the play, The Sound of Music. I had a blast chilling with everyone. Everyone needs a girls night out once in a while. It was also nice at the end of the night to go home to my baby, Dar. :)

Gwen, me and the three little boys who held our banner. They thought they were so cool. Later that afternoon they came into the salon to get their free haircuts we promised.

Our owner and her children our sitting in the back of this old fashion car throwing candy.

Me and my little "sis" Hayley at the play.

Me trying to take a picture of all of us.

A finished room

Darren and I are so excited. We finally finished a room in our apartment. He has been bugging me to get a rug and a curtain and today we finally found one we liked. So, Tada, here is a few pics of our living room.

I love my little black and white chair. Isn't it cute? Also, Darren and his mom found our tables in that room at a garage sell when we first got married. He painted them black and now they look awesome.

We have a really cool loft that is our study. I am taking a pic from there of my cute husband.

What's new:

Nothing much new. We're just living life and enjoying every bit of it. Here's a couple of my random thoughts:

I am coming up on six months with Sherwin-Williams. I have learned a lot, and am doing really well as I begin my career. I've decided this: I don't consider working for Sherwin-Williams a job. Instead, I consider it a jumpstart to my career. I've always been very intrigued in businesses and how they are run. Truly, this job has given me great opportunities to work in a lot of areas in a business: sales, marketing, operations management, managing people, accounting, statistics, etc.

Also, I've taken it upon myself to train for my second half-marathon in August. I'm about four weeks into my training, and finally running is becoming fun. For those of you that have run before, you know that the first 3-4 weeks (maybe a little more) are the hardest weeks to get through. I can now run 4-5 miles pretty easily without running out of breath. And let me tell you, when you run 4+ miles, you burn a lot of calories which basically means you lose a lot of weight. So far I've lost 13 pounds, and am nearing 200! Yea!

Lastly, Heather and I are happy it's summer! We love Bountiful so far, and we're excited to get out more and explore areas up here. Hope this post didn't bore you enough... but Heather likes it when I come on here occasionally to write.

I love to run!

I did my first scalp massage on Heather and this is how it turned out! HOT!!!!!!

We like Bountiful

Life has been pretty good so far. Darren and I are both busy working tons of hours at work. I am working atleast 40 hours at work and loving being that busy. My confidence has gone way up. I must say that my A-line haircuts are getting pretty amazing. Which I have always struggled with. I also can't believe how much better I have been getting paid. Bountiful people sure know how to tip! I had to fix a little girls A-line haircut the other day and I got a 20 dollar tip for a 10 min haircut. The one bad thing about this job, is that it's killer to see all these adorable kids and I am very baby hungry.

A day out with Jane

Today I got to babysit one of my adorable nieces. I get to babysit her every tuesday for the month of June to help my sister-n-law out. I want a baby so bad that this is so fun for me. Jane and I got to do alot of fun stuff today. We shopped, played, and played some more. My sister and mom came up. My sister brought her kids and we went to the Bountiful rec center. We had a blast. By the time my sister-n-law Tiffany came to pick up Jane I was exhausted. I got a very tiny glimpse at how mothers must feel. I can't wait to do it again next week. Thanks Tiffany for letting me take care of her!

Jane and her big beautiful smile and cool glasses that I just bought her.

Jane and my other neice Ally. They both liked each other alot!

Cookie Cutters

I started my new kids cut job last thursday. I have loved it! It's a totally different experience and I love every thing about it. The kids that come in are so excited to get their haircut. It's a very fun job. The tips are way better too! I guess Bountiful people know how to tip? One funny thing that happened is I was painting this 4 year olds nails. Darren walks in to surprise me and I blush and tell her that's my husband. The little girl turns to me and in a duh voice and says, "I already knew that was your husband." Ok so maybe you had to be there, but it was hilarious coming from a 4 year old. Anyway, everyone bring your kids to get their haircut here, it's adorable. You and your child will love it!

What theme song describes me??

Take this test!
Who says you're too old for slumber parties? On top of that sugar, spice and everything nice, you are the epitome of feminine, inner strength, so of course you know "What a Girl Wants." When you're with your friends on a ski vacation or a long weekend at the lake, you're on top of everything, including how to be your genuine self. That's why Christina's sweet strains beat cadence to your graceful routine. This song should be cued up in your car so you can crank it to share with everyone in a two-block radius, or blast it as you and your friends cruise down the highway. Trust your instincts, girl. Some people struggle with tough choices in life, but with your inner resolve, you don't have to. You know how to make your way in the world and nothing's going to stop you because a theme song like "What a Girl Wants" reminds you that above all, you're right to believe in yourself.

We've been tagged!

This is Darren. I will go first. I have work off today and tomorrow, so obviously I have a lot of time on my hand.

Where was I 10 years ago:
I was living in Tigard, Oregon going to Tualatin High School. Honestly, these were times I don't really feel like remembering. I was in high school and had no idea who I was, and was one of the only mormons at school. By the way, I hated high school.

Things to do on my list:
Right now I am focused on training for my 2nd Half Marathon, the Top of Utah Half Marathon. I suppose I will at least do a couple more of these before I ever run a Marathon. 13.1 miles is sufficient for me now :-)

Things I would do if I became a billionaire:
1) Make sure I pay tithing on it first
2) Give, give, give. I believe that with a lot of money comes responsibility. I would buy the necessities and then give in ways that I felt necessary.

3 of my bad habits:
1) Biting cubicles. This all started when I was probably 12 or so because I saw my mom biting her fingernails. Now that I think about it, I have done this probably for over half of my life... sad...
2) Texting
3) Moving shoulders when nervous

5 places I've lived:
1) Bountiful, Utah
2) Tigard, Oregon
3) Columbia, South Carolina
4) Yorba Linda, California
5) Sao Paulo, Brazil

5 jobs I've had:
1) Telemarketer
2) Caterer
3) Warehouse worker
4) Door-to-door salesman
5) Assistant Manager

Something most people don't know about me:
I'm anal with a lot of things, just ask Heather. I think I got this from my parents... Blah! I get anxiety when the house gets dirty and cluttery. I get anal when spending money. Etc.

4 people I tag:
1) Hayley
2) Tiffany
3) Jason
4) Lindsey

In mourning

It was a sad sad night last night. I had a little American Idol party, in hopes that David Archuletta would win. He lost. :( I wish he would of won, but I am seriously ok with it. Darren all night kept saying, "Oh baby, I am soo sorry David lost." It was cute, but really I was cool with it. It's probably better with him being mormon not to be as controlled with American Idol. Also, they interviewed him after the finale and he said he already has had offers for record deals. I am thinking with Sony records. So in reality what did David Cook win that David Archuletta didnt? He got the car, he got a contract. Oh, he didn't get the title American Idol.

I am also excited David A, said he wants to do a cd like John Mayer stuff. That sounds awesome. I hope he does well with it. I am going to be the first one in line to buy it.

What I've (Darren) been up to lately...

I have been staying busy with life, and I just thought I'd post a couple of pictures. I had a great birthday. I got up at 7 for an early meeting in Salt Lake, then worked until 6. Just after 6 we all had dinner at Winger's then headed off to the Jazz vs. Lakers game with Jason, Phillip, and Dad. The game was a bummer (Jazz lost), which really put a damper on my day. But what really made my day was all the very thoughtful gifts and acts of love from my family, and especially Heather.

Heather really made my birthday a special one in so many ways. She even put up with me for 5 hours at the E Center watching Dave Ramsey (which by the way was awesome!) the day after. We ended up at the new Tucano's restaurant at the Gateway mall and then shopped for a couple hours afterwards. Heather got a new pair of sunglasses and a new summer purse, both of which are well deserved and long waited for.

Life is great. I love Heather with every piece of everything that I am. She is amazing and exceeds my expectations every day. I couldn't be any happier... that is, until we probably start a family.

Here's some pictures:

This is us about two weeks ago before the Rockets vs. Jazz game. We went to Iggy's before the game and pigged out!

I had the chance to work the sidelines of a Real Salt Lake soccer game recently. I basically held this parabolic dish and followed the ball the whole game to pick up sound for T.V. It was a way cool experience to be right next to the players.

This is us (including Grandpa) eating at Winger's on my birthday.

Phillip, Jason, and me on my birthday at the Jazz vs. Lakers game. Too bad we lost... oh well, better luck next year!

This was perhaps the funniest part of the night. This guy sitting next to my dad is from Preston, ID. For those of you who don't know where or what Preston is, it's the city that Napoleon Dynamite was filmed. I kid you not, if there ever was such thing as a redneck, this guy was it. For some reason he kept standing up and talking with Dad about weird redneck stuff. But hey, the two really hit it off!!! LOL!

This is me right before the Dave Ramsey seminar holding my "Total Money Makeover" book written by Dave Ramsey. This book has changed our lives! We are well on our way to having ZERO debt including no credit card debt, no car debt (owning both cars) and ZERO student loan debt.

I know you can't see it very well but this is a view from our seats, 3rd row! It was so cool to see Dave live in person. Cash is king and debt is dumb!

Happy Birthday Darren!

Today is Darren's 25th birthday. Everyone wish him a happy birthday. He is such a great guy I am soo glad we found each other. Darren I wish this birthday is one of your best. I love you baby! :)

Cookie Cutters

I ventured out of my comfort zone AGAIN and got a new job with cutting hair. I loved the job I had, but with gas prices going up it was getting to expensive to drive to Kaysville and back. Well, A new salon is opening up tomorrow called Cookie Cutters. It's a kid salon and I got a job there. A lot of people might think I am crazy. I just love cutting kids hair. This is right up my ally. Plus, it's 5 mins. from my apartment. This new salon is soo adorable. They give little manicures to the little girls. The kids get there hair cut in a cool chair. When the kids first walk in they get to choose a video game or a dvd to put in while they get their haircut. In the waiting room is this huge playground with a slide. When they are all done with the cut, they get to pick a sucker, balloon and a cookie cutter. It's genius! Oh and any kids with little girls, they have a little section that they sell bows exclusively at this salon. I am excited to start this new adventure. Wish me luck. I might need it. This isn't the store I am working at, but this is the store they have in SLC.

This is part of the waiting area in the SLC store. You can also see the area they sell the cute bows and kid product line.

This is what each station looks like. A tv and a very cute chair the kids get to pick out. COOL!

Mother's Day

This past Mothers Day was a hard day for me. As some of you know, I want a baby really bad. I am almost 29 years old and have no children. I am ok with that. I just never knew how emotionally draining it gets to want a baby and every month a dissapointment. Some of you understand this and some of you dont. Yesterday was going to be a great day for me. I was hoping I was pregnant and I got to be with some of the people I loved. I got way excited for that day. I stayed up the night before making homemade dill hamburgar buns and made homemade brownies. They both turned out delicious. Mothers Day comes and guess what comes? Yes, my monthly. Not just any monthly. The one that hurts so much you feel like your going to die. So it's Mother's Day and I am in the worst pain. I went home and just layed in bed emotional. Thank goodness I have the best husband in the world. He totally knows how to take good care of me. Darren I couldn't ask for anything more from you. I love you. Now I normally wouldn't write something like this, but I really want to let my feelings out and when I finally have a precious baby in my arms, I can remember what I went through and how it's not the end of the world. If something else happens I will know things pass and this too shall pass.

David's day

I am loving today. It's David's homecoming in Utah and he is on everystation. He is my fave on American Idol. He has such pure talent. He may not make the songs more lively like the other contestants, but he has the purest and most soothing voice on that show. GO DAVID! I wish I wasn't somewhat responsible so I could ditch work and go with my sister-n-law Hayley to Gateway to get his autograph. I remind myself I am 28 and too old to be a teeny bopper. So Hayley if you're reading this.....MARRY HIM!! :)

A sunday with my fam

I know some of you might think "so when did Heather and Darren have a kid?" You didn't miss anything, we didnt have a kid. Darren and I went to my nephew(shown in the above pic) Tian's baby blessing. Isn't he a big chunk and totally adorable. Well we had a lot of fun chilling with my family. We gotta spend some time with my sister and brothers kids.

Darren is looking like a cool uncle!

Lyric, Tian's sister posing for me.

Lauren drinking and walking. Not a good combo, esp when she is headed straight for me and the camera :)

I have an addiction

Ever since we moved Darren has gotten me hooked on frozen Custard from Nelsens. They are to die for. I can't get enough of these things. They are better then milk shakes. So every couple weeks we go get one. My favorite flavor is Brownie and caramel. YUM! Darren always gets Oreo. If you haven't tried them you are totally missing out! I am licking my lips as I write this post.

I QUIT!

I know I look so happy in the picture, but after 9 very long years I officially put my 2 week notice in at Wal*Mart. I am outta there and just going to focus on my haircutting job. YAY!

I am getting old

As many of you know, I absolutely love my job as a hairdresser. Darren has been nothing but supportive. He is enjoying that I always have cash in my purse. He also loves that my dress code is I have to have my hair done everyday. I get along with all the girls great. Well, the topic says I am getting old. It's true. A few days ago the girls and I decided how to change my hair up. They added tons of short layers and a richer color. As one girl was applying the color she informed me that I have gray hair. YES! Gray hair! I freaked out. I know I am almost 30 years old, but for some reason the first time you get gray hairs it freaks you out. I knew it was coming and it has finally arrived. I have gray hairs and getting old. :)

Me with my new color and layers. Really it's different. haha

A few people wanted to see where I worked. Well, here it is. That's my station at the salon I work at.

Reflections...

Hey y'all, this is Darren. I know I don't come on here much, but I have work off today and tomorrow and decided to come on here and spill what's going through my head. ***WARNING*** This might be long and a big ramble, but for some reason I just feel like speaking my mind right now, don't ask me why (don't you think blogs are kind of like modern-day journals? I hope they never go away).

Anyways, work is going great for me. I have been with Sherwin-Williams for 3 1/2 months now, and am loving it. It's a great job. In fact, these past two years, Fortune Magazine has rated Sherwin-Williams in its "Top 100 companies to work for". Ok ok, I know it's been rated like #98 both years, but just think of all the thousands and thousands of companies in America, and this magainze decides to rank us in the top 100 best to work for. I could go on and on why this is probably so, but suffice it to say I love my job so far and it's been a great start to my post-college career.

I've really been reflecting on my marriage a lot lately and I decided to make a little list of reflections of things I've learned and love since I 've been married to my sweetheart Heather. These are in no particular order, I'll just write them as they come to my head. Also, as a note, these all might seem very simple if you just browse over them, but those of you that are married know that a simple phrase can mean so much more than the few words said. In other words, these all have a lot of meaning to me.

1- Heather has been everything I expected plus more. When I met her and was in the first stages of dating, I knew she was very special. However, she has exceeded every expectation of mine a hundred fold.

2- Honestly, when we argue and get in fights, about 90% of the time Heather is usually right. I don't know how she has the patience to deal with my nastiness sometimes, but she does and she's amazing.

3- Marriage is fun. Heather is by far my best friend. I tell her almost everything and everything. The stuff I don't tell her is sometimes better not said (again, I can be nasty and rude) and moat of the time not true.

4- Somehow we find ways to get through things. I don't know how, but we do (I bet most of you can relate).

5- Heather has made me be a better person in many ways. Again, I don't know how she does it, but she is amazing.

6- For the most part, n-laws are great (parents, siblings, etc.). However, you can only spend so much time with them before you just want to be with your spouse (and probably kids too-- this I don't know for sure yet).

7- I'm thankful Heather lets me watch sports. I remember taking a girl out on a first date once to a BYU football game and it was horrible! I don't know how she lets me watch so much sports, but for me watching sports gets my mind off other things.

Anyways, there's many more things to talk about, but suffice it to say I have loved every second of being married to Heather. She had definately made me a much better person in life in so many ways. I continue to love her more each day of my wife. I am very blessed and lucky to have found Heather!

I need the summer

I got a glimpse of summer on Monday. It was 80 degrees. Now it's cold and I am cold. So here is a Cabo picture reminding me that summer is near and it will get warm soon and stay warm.

American Idol

I loved last night. I don't know how many of you watched last night, but it was one of my favorite nights. It might be because I love Mariah Carey. So the reason I am posting this is I have to admit when I am wrong, well somewhat. This whole season I have not liked David Cook. I just have thought he was not as great as everyone is saying. Well, I am wrong. Last night was my favorite performances that he sang. He sang, You Will Always Be My Baby. Wow, he nailed it! I even liked his perfomance better than David Archuletta's. He got my vote last night. For those of you still wondering, "Does Heather still like David Archuletta better?" The answer is yes. He is still my favorite and I hope he wins. :) Go David Archulleta!!!

The BIG Master golf tournament is over and I have my husband back right?

Wrong! This past week has been a sport filled week and I missed my husband. Darren loves golf. I mean really really loves golf. Once a year they have The Masters on tv. All the great golfers play. I don't know a lot of their names, but Tiger Woods plays. Anyway, once a year Darren is glued to this tournament. All weekend I was trying to understand golf so I could be with him, but a girl can only watch so much of it(especially when it's a 4 day event, that lasts hours) Then after that was over for the day there would be basketball. So the Masters ended today. I got my husband back, that is until the basketball playoffs start in a week. Girls night anyone?

A new apartment and it smells like bread. :)

Darren and I are all moved in and we absolutely love it. We went to Ikea and bought a bunch of cool stuff for our apartment. I am loving decorating for the first time. It's fun. We love that the commute is a lot less then the hour each way we were both commuting. PHEW, that's over! As shown in the picture I am also loving being a homemaker again. I made my first batch of homemade bread. Yeah I know its not the prettiest, but boy does it smell good in our house. I plan on getting better and making more in the future. If anyone has any awesome recipes, send them our way!

Bountiful here we come!

So it's finally official. Darren and I found a place to live in Bountiful. We are so excited to finally live up there. No more commuting 2 hours  a day to go to work. We move in a couple weeks to our new place. We are very grateful for Trish and Keith for keeping us fed and giving us a place to sleep. They have been great and very patient with us. Darren is going to miss all the meals he has been getting. Oh well. :) I know he will eventually love those instant potatoes.

Missing Cabo

Hey y'all, this is Darren... Yes, I am missing Cabo, but who seriously wouldn't miss this (the picture below)? This is what we woke up to every day which seems like years ago. Oh well, that's life, right? You work your butt off for years for a measly 8 days in paradise? I must say though, it was worth it! The sad part about this picture was that it was taken the morning that we were leaving for home...

Life has been good lately, although not much news to talk about. Heather and I are still looking for a place in Bountiful. I have to admit, we really haven't been looking that hard, but I am feeling more and more motivated to really start looking hard. We have enjoyed staying at my parents house and we are EXTREMELY grateful to them for putting up with us. However, both Heather and I are becoming more anxious to just find our own place quick. The funny thing about this is that my personality is more like "Let's take our time to find the right place..." whereas Heather thinks more on the lines of "Just find me a place already, Darren!" I learned this early on as Heather wanted to marry after dating me only a couple months whereas I needed to take my time to think through such a hard decision. Anyways, we'll find the right place soon!

My job is going good. I have been with Sherwin-Williams now for just over two months and have enjoyed the job. I am so anxious to just dig in alredy and majorly impact my store. Unfortunately with this experience, I really need to learn patience and let knowledge come with time. I love business and analyzing why some businesses do better than others. Besides all this, the job is a really good one, and I'm definately enjoying it for now!

Like I said, there's not really much new with us except for trying to find as place to live. We'll keep you updated!

A blast from the past!

This is a picture taken from our first month of dating. I was in beauty school, so my hair was a little funky. It has blond pieces in my bangs and fringe. Darren wore this hat often around me. We are a cute couple even way back then. I love you DAR!

Starting a new chapter

The past couple weeks we have been living with Darren's parents , till we sell our old lease and get into a new apartment. Well, we sold our lease. Now we just need to find a new apartment in Bountiful. So the search goes on. The Tintle's have been easy to live with and fun to have the company. Darren is getting use to all the home cooked meals. :)

I started my new haircutting job up in Kaysville. I absolutely love it. I didn't realize how stressful Walmart was. My new job is less stressful and actually fun! I love cutting hair everyday. Darren is still learning his job at Sherwin Williams. I think it's a little overwhelming at times for him, but all in all he is enjoying learning new things that comes with it.

CABO!

What a vacation! Darren and I had a blast in cabo with his parents. It was one of the best vacations I have ever been on (despite the fact I gained 6 pounds). The resort we stayed at was all in-inclusive. So we got to eat whenever and whatever we wanted. We totally took advanted of that. The whole week consisted of, laying out at the pool/ beach, relaxing, sipping pina colada's, eating at all the different buffets, whale watching, snorkeling, para-sailing, riding around on atv's, and my favorite part, getting to know my in-laws, esp my mother-n-law a whole lot better. Laying out at the pool, what everyday consisted of.
This is what we saw everyday, beautiful Cabo.
Don't we look hot all tan?!
Hanging out with my father-n-law at dinner.
Don't they look totally cute? We are going around town on our atv's.

Life goes on cont....

This is the pic of me hydroplaning off the freeway.

Life has been busy....

Wow! What can I say about this past week. It has been way hectic and busy. First off, since Darren and I are moving I decided I wanted to use my hair license and get a job at a salon. I set up some interviews. The morning of there is this snowstorm. The roads were icy the whole way up. I was almost at my first appointment and I hit slush. I weaved in and out of traffic and spun off the freeway and did a half donut on the side of the freeway. (we took pictures, so I will post pictures soon) I was very shooken up and of course my wonderful husband comes to the rescue. I finally make it to my first interview, over an hour late. I didn't get the first job. I did however get the last job I interviewed for. I am so excited about my new job. I am working at a salon, called Totally Clips. The girls seem great, and the job seems great.

Yesterday we moved out of our apartment. We don't exactly have an apartment, so we are living with my in-laws for a couple weeks. I hate moves. It seems that everytime we move I find aches in parts of my body that I didn't know exhisted. Anyway life is great and tomorrow I am going to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. YA!

Back from Dallas...

Hey all y'all (I've heard enough of this this week), I finally got home last nigh just after 9 p.m. from Dallas, Texas. Bless Heather's heart waiting an extra hour and a half for me due to the flight delay (don't flight delays just stink?)

This was my first "official" business trip. It was kind of nice in the sense that everything was taken care of from the flight, to the hotel, to every meal. Basically what I did all week was get trained Every day from 8-5 on the business. I am very happy with Sherwin-Williams so far, it seems like a great company. What has impressed me perhaps more than anything is not only its very low turnover rate, but how many of its employees have been with the company most of their careers, upwards of 40 years. I think that this really tells me that there must be something about Sherwin-Williams and how it takes care of its employees. S-W even made the top 100 Fortune list of the best companies to work for in America. It did come in 98th place, but just making the list says something!

Like Heather already posted, we are headed up a little northward to Bountiful! This kind of came as a shock because there was quite a bit of movement which led to an immediate opening in the Orem store. So for a couple of weeks Heather and I just kind of assumed that they would probably just place me in Orem. However, the District Manager has others things in mind for me I guess. I'm actually really glad for this because it will be good for both of us (especially Heather) to get out of Utah County. I know I know, Bountiful isn't much different, but hopefully this is a stepping stone to us possibly moving in the future. There is a good chance of this. What happens with SW is that I will probably be an assistant for about a year give or take a couple of months, and then as opportunities present themselves, we might move to another store in Salt Lake, or perhaps out of state. Really, only time will tell. But for now I am just very excited and VERY overwhelmed going up to Bountiful to finally assistant manage.

By the way, if any of you are ever interested in possibly repainting a room or some little project around the house, give us a ring. I don't say this to "make money" off of you, but rather as an opportunity to take on a new fun project. I can't wait for us to move into our first house hopefully in the next couple of years and really have fun painting rooms. Painting can really be fun!

Anyways, this is about all the news I have. It was fun going to Dallas, especially seeing 90% of the guys I went with getting wasted every night (this is something that I just won't ever completely understand). Hope you enjoyed this blog. I'll let Heather post on here whenever, and occasionally I'll update you on my happenings.

Happy February!

January 28, 2008

So Darren and I have exciting news for everyone! We found out where we are getting relocated. IT'S BOUNTIFUL! I am really happy, scared, excited, nervous, etc. I have lived in Orem/Provo my whole life so this is really stepping out of my comfort zone. Darren and I are excited to start a new adventure outside of Utah County. It should be fun, right? :)

January 20, 2008

Life has been great these past few weeks. I found out this week that at Weight Watchers that I reached my goal. I have lost 21 pounds since I have joined in October. Darren has been getting more acquanted with his job and seems to enjoy it. I can't tell if its the money he is finally making or no more school. :) Later this week we are hoping to know where we are going to be relocated. I HOPE ITS UTAH!

Darren and I in love!

So I found this picture quite funny. We are all watching my sister-n-law's almost 3 month old roll over. We are all cheering. Little Jane finally did it, she rolled over for the first time.

January 5, 2008

Hey everyone, Happy New Year! This is our fist official post on our new blog. We hope that you come visit us often.

I just started my new job at Sherwin-Williams this week, and my first week was very overwhelming. I am training at the American Fork store which is actually very new, so it's fun working there. I will continue to train through mid-February, and then I head off to Dallas, Texas for a week of corporate training, afterwhich I will be relocated to another store which I will manage (Assistant to the Manager ;-) Right now we have no idea where I will be relocated, although we're pretty sure I will stay in Utah, however, nothing's for sure. We're hoping to stay in Utah, but whatever the Lord wants, right?!

Heather is continuing to work at Wal-Mart's pharmacy. She has been the bread-winner for so long that I think now she is happy to know that when she quits Wal-Mart, my job will be able to pay enough for her to stay home and raise our family. She is looking as good as ever, didn't I marry a babe????

We will both be posting on here, so have fun and we hope to see some visitors here!
