What a LONG week......

WOW! This has been a really long week for Darren and I. Darren sure has been sweet to help me through this hard time for the both of us. We are also so suprised at how many people have had so much compassion and showed their love. THANK YOU! We really mean it!

On Friday, we went up to Logan. Darren ran on Saturday. He had to get up really early so we decided to stay the night at my brothers. It was fun to get away from Bountiful. Darren did run his race. I was so proud of him. He didn't even get to train all week long, because he was with me and he finished in better time then we both thought. GOOD JOB BABE!

Darren just about done with the race. GO DAR!
I was yelling at him and saying hi, but he couldnt hear me. Or was he ignoring me?

The three finishers in the family. Phillip, Hayley, and Darren
Darrens sister and him. She was faster then Darren. GO Hayley.
This is lyric my little niece. Funny story about her. She kept watching all the runners go by. She was getting really curious about them. Finally she asked if she could run too. So she started running to the finish line with my brother. It was soo cute.

Heather update...

The last about 48 hours have been very eventful for us, and we are finally all settled down and resting.

Yesterday (Tuesday) Heather wasn't doing so well all day. Finally around 4 o'clock Heather called me in desperation to go to the hospital as she was having contractions. I quickly drove home from work and found her on the floor almost completely passed out. From that point I picked her up and took her to St. Mark's Hospital Emergency room in Salt Lake. Heather was doing horrible the whole drive and somewhat relieved to find herself in the emergency room.

After a little wait we finally got her in a room and the nurse drugged Heather all up. After a couple minutes she was felling much better. Apparently Heather had had a lot of the miscarriage naturally already, but we wanted to be at the hospital in case anything else happened. After a lot of waiting, she got an ultrasound to see if the D & C was still necessary. However, being late at night our OBGYN wasn't at the hospital, so we decided to come home and continue on with our D & C today at 12:30 (Wednesday).

This morning Heather felt a little better because she was all drugged up. We were told to come back to the hospital this morning to have another ultrasound. After a lot more waiting, Dr. Yamishiro decided it best to have the D & C to get rid of some left behind "stuff" and clear things out to avoid any possible infection of any sort. So around 3 o'clock today Heather went in for a quick same day surgery, and everything ended out ok! Now we are at home and waiting for the Relief Society to bring us dinner!

I just personally wanted to thank Heather's parents for all of their support in this whole thing. They have been by us almost the whole time. I also wanted to thank my parents for coming today and being willing to help us if we need any help. Your visit mom and dad meant a lot to us today. We are more than grateful to everyone else for your constant prayers and acts of kindness. It's very relieving for Heather and I to know that we have so many people that love and care for us. This whole experience has been hard for us (Heather especially), and we know that the emotional pain will never go away. However, we know that it's probably just one of the challenges that we were sent to deal with.

Again, thank you everyone for your prayers and support. We love you all!

Sad news...

SO today was our first prenatal appointment. It didn't turn out as well as we had hoped. They doctor did a ultra sound and they couldn't find a heartbeat. The doctor said I was carrying twins and they stopped growing a few weeks ago. Darren and I are both devestated, but will move on. I go to the hospital on wednesday for a dnc. For a few weeks we will be taking a blogging break to get our emotions intact. Keep us in your prayers!

Please have sympathy on me!

I've completely stopped losing weight.

No, as you're probably wondering, this isn't Heather.  This is Darren.  My half-marathon is next Saturday, and I'm totally pumped.  Except for one thing, the pounds have not been falling.  My gut isn't getting any smaller.

They all say that when you run and train for marathons, you're supposed to lose weight.  This was the case for me as I started around 225 pounds just about three months ago.  I actually came all the way down to 203... about a month ago.  I still weigh 203.

Which leaves me wondering, why am I not losing weight?  Actually, it just dawned on me... Heather's pregnant.

I must be pregnant too.

Just a quick post.

I know! I know! I am totally slacking on updating my post. I really didn't think everyone wanted to hear about all my morning sickness I have had. :) Darren has been doing great on his half-marathon training. Just a little over a week till he runs it. I am so proud of him! I just got a new calling in my ward. I am in YW now. I am the personal progress advisor. This should be fun. Other exciting news is in one week we get to go to our first baby appointment. I will be a little over 9 weeks and we are both stoked!
